Leland Purple Structural Cuff

$375.00
Sold Out

If you have ever visited Leland you may have notice a blue stone along the shoreline. In the late 1800's Leland was an industrial town with one of the main industries being Leland Lake Superior Iron Company. When smelting eventually failed what remained was a multitude of slag that had been dumped into the harbor. Slag is a byproduct of smelting, ore was melted and separated from natural impurities. It is blue glass and a mix of other minerals, these other minerals can also cause it to appear gray, PURPLE, or a shade of green. Enjoy the history of this Michigan repurposed material when wearing this cuff. It tells a story of where we came from and where we are today.

Details:

  • Sterling Silver & leland purple

  • One of a kind
